Now us actuaries must have excellent taste (it goes without saying). Hence, we must all be watching this latest import. Written by the same bloke as ALIAS - so does this mean it'll start great but go downhill after the second series? Now first a few questions - who sabotaged the signal? And why is the fat bloke still fat? And what's with this korean husband bloke (isn't he the telepath from Crusder?)? Where is Alex? What are these mysterious creatures that hear but don't see...?
John...I ordered the dvd set for series one from the states becuase I couldn't keep waiting for the following week to see what happens. if you like, I would be happy to send you the box set after I am done (although your need a DVD that is multiregional), I have two more episodes to watch, I couldn't watch the last 2 last nite cos I was home alone and too scared to watch by myself.....but I think that show is fantastic..... I can see there being a series 3 at least cos there are many questions that have not been answered and I doubt it will be answered in series 2 completely. The only thing is that I hope they don't continue to draw out the background of each character by the end of series 2 cos that will be boring....although for now its really good. Although this hasn't been explained have you yet noticed that when showing a certain character's stories other characters seem to appear indirectly ....... regarding Hurley (the fat bloke and my favourite character)...I ask that question every week.....seriously there need to make him losss weight for consistency, additionally you will see Michael starting to put on weight abit later on which I questioned? By the way, Hurley's story is great...his story is very important to the mess they are in.
Someone mentioned to me that the person who wrote this story has an obsession with the number 47, in both this series and the previous one he did. (Hence why there are 47 survivers in Lost.) Does anyone know whether it has any significance underlying throughout his work, or is it just his favourite number? leafy
I am sure if the actor who plays Hurley could easily lose weight he would. However, given he probably can't I am prepared to just imagine that he eats a lot of fish.
As I understand it, while we have been watching for weeks, they have only been on the island for a number of days. Expecting Hurley to lose weight in this amount of time is perhaps a bit Gillian McKeith!
I actually think Lost is mince. My reasons are threefold : 1 Shallow characters with "paint by numbers" acting 2 A dry story that isnt really going anywhere - I just don't care if they survive 3 Each episode seems just to build up to a twist or pathetic cliffhanger at the end Why don't you go and watch CSI intstead. It rules!
Reply to Leafy There are 46 survivors not 47...the 47th person was Ethan, who was not a survivor but is one of the others....
Hurley In repsonse to SJP there have actuallly been here for a month (you will see later) and given that there is no junk food on the island and Locke has stooped hunting the bores and Hurley doesn't eat fish at the moment (because he is intimated by Jin - who catches the fish - to come later) he is only living on fruit. You can eat fruit until you are blue in the face..... you are not going to keep your weight on given that firstly it is very low in calories and secondly,it will give you the runs. Additionally, there are on a hot island doing activity all day every day (Hurley constantly has sweat patches over him)....surely he should have lost something
Thanks for the additional info Deniese. You are obviously way ahead of me! Also you gave a disturbingly in-depth analysis of the characters nutrition and bowel movements. Ever thought about a job with Jamie Oliver?
I can't remember seeing 47 in Alias - help me if anyone else remembers! Was it a cop-out that Savid heard these "creatures" at the end of last week's episode but then turned up last night (7th October Channel 4 - not E4) fine? Is Lance Nom actually Alex? In which case what does he want with the baby? (Confess that I switched off the sound on the spiritualist stuff since won't have anything to do with that - so sorry if the plot was explained in that and I missed it) And for crying out loud doesn't anybody in TV/movies know anything about childbirth? It's normally 10hrs+ for the first labour - and since her contractions have just started (though mysteriously stopped for dialogue later) - she'll be fine for walking back to the caves...
I think you may be abit confused..... Lance is one of the survivors, I think you mean Ethan (who Hurley mistakenly called Lance when taking the census but was corrected). Alex, is the french woman's son...who is somewhere on the island (the only member of her team she didn't kill). The baby stuff is one of the important issues of the series that I do't think will be explained for some time (possibly series 2 or further) but it appears that children (or at least the two children on the island) are very important. you may have had your volume muted at this stage, but remember the psyhic told Claire (girl with baby) that she must raise her child herself and no bodyelse can do it and that it is very important).......well i guess its something to do with that. Does anyone else feel that Locke is working for the other side????? Not convinced about him and it gets no clearer at the end of series 1.
What happened to the black and white stones in the bag that Jack found in the cave and put in his pocket? And why were Locke's eyes black and white stones in the dream that the pregnant girl had this week? I think I can guess what all these people are surviving on! Red Herrings!! leafy
OK - well one person wasn't on the manifest - so I assumed that was Alex who was blending in to run amoc (or something). I then thought that this was the person at the end who was enquiring (in a rather strange psycho way) about the baby at the end. Help I'm losing it!
john, I concur (that's my new word).....there where 48 people who crashed, however, the FBI prtety much died soon after and a woman drowned in sea. P.S. Locke is a NUTTER!!!!
Yeah, like I said: 48 crashed; FBI guys died (47) Woman drowned (46) When pregnant lady has here baby - 47... leafy
Ah, but she's not one of the original survivors. If you start counting the french lady, the weird "Ethan", Alex etc etc and everything else that may be on the Island you clearly get more. My point was that there were 47 survivors, which I've heard is a common number that runs through the producers work... leafy
