Word and Excel Version

I see the February Paper said students to use word 2007. Does it mean you cannot use any later version. I have word 2016. Will this be acceptable?

You can use a later version but the examiners need to be able to open your file without a problem.

For Word, you can save the file as an older Word format (.doc file, maybe '97-'03?) to ensure there are no issues. You can do this in the box under the file name when you first save or file or via Save As.

Similarly for Excel, you can use an older format. Be careful that you don't use any newer functions that aren't compatible with older versions. For example, in Excel 2016 you can nest up to 64 statement but only 7 in Excel 2007. You can use the compatibility checker in Excel to spot any problems (via File -> Info -> Check for Issues -> Compatibility Checker). If you use this I'd recommend practising with it in advance on your models.

Thanks
Sarah
