Using the data provided

    Hi,

Very quick one on the first paper, where we get given some data in an Excel file and a couple of PDFs with the questions/instructions etc.

Can we use the Excel file the examiners provide as the base of our model?

That is to build the model based on the data in that file, then save as, with the right name, on our computers, before uploading the model at the end?

Or are we expected to copy that data into our own blank workbook (that we open up after the exam starts and the instructions are downloaded)?

I'm just a tad confused by the "you must create your own documents" idea.

    Hi PeteC.
My own advice would be to open an entirely new excel worksheet, then copy and paste the data into a new tab. After that of course, label spreadsheet as instructed. Remember the entire model is supposed to be your own work, created during the exam. IE, an entirely new instance of excel.
