Translated Gamma Distribution

Hi,

I have what may be a dumb question. Is the translated Gamma Distribution in the formula tables or do we just have to know it?

Thank you!

Sorry, I don't have the formula tables to hand, but depending on how you like to work, surely it's easy to derive it from the vanilla Gamma Distribution, i.e. variance and standardised skewness are going to be the same; mean will be the mean of the vanilla Gamma plus the translation parameter, etc.

Indeed. But the skewness isn't in the tables either. Of course, it's easy to work out the skewness from the coefficient of skewness (which is in the tables), but still it's just one more thing to worry about. In short, don't get caught out by assuming the tables give you everything on a plate.
