    Hi,

Can anyone please help me with the following question?

A person susceptible to the prevalence of a disease is observable in four possible states of health , viz ., Ok, bad , worst and dead.
Suggest one – step transition probability matrix P suitable for representing a
    (i) Non-Terminal disease
    (ii) Terminal disease

If my understanding is right, in case of a non-terminal disease, once the person reaches a particular state (say, 'worst'), there is a chance that he may recover to a better state (say 'ok' or 'bad'). So there will be a transition from that state to states other than dead.

In case of a terminal disease, the only outward transition will be towards the 'dead' state.
