Lets post the topics that we can leave for the CT8 exam on Wednesday. For starters I'd say the 5 step proof/theory (whatever)!! for both the continuous and dis-cont. time.
As in skip the topics altogether? Can't say I know the 5-step proof/theory thing that brilliantly but even I'm not stir-crazy from study enough yet to say I'll forget it altogether. I'd love to forget all about interest rate models though.
i'm forgetting to learn the wilkie equation, on basis most questions give it to you. 5-step thingy isn't so bad.
i'm just benefitting from the "buy one get one free" deal the Institute is doing on ST6 at the moment.
I spent a lot of the weekend actually learning the 5 Step. But not the discrete version. As for stuff I am leaving Wilkie Interest rate with proofs, I've learnt model characteristics. Thats about it. Also looked at GK proof for pde and the lemma in chapter 12 but I doubt they will come. It's easy to make mistakes with those particularly losing the sign which I do constantly. Can't wait for it to be over. I need a vacation.
I am leaving out Wilkie equations and everything else for that matter such as VARMA form, Markov form. Just studied the inflation equation. And I am still considering leaving the 5 step proofs even though I understand them. Will probably learn them tomorrow night. Goodbye Erik
I'll pick up tomorrow again - off to do a CT8 game show as hosted by my rather considerate boyfriend. Isn't learning fun?
I guess we can also leave CAPM and the binomial model (although this is sorta unfair, because they both are easy)
If it helps I won the top prize. Which means at least I know all my lists of assumptions now. If only I could do anything else.
How can you consider leaving CAPM and binomial. Sounds very foolish. Imagine a 25 mark question on binomial model (not that unlikely) Do you know something I don't? Cheers
I wouldn't worry - I believe this entire thread is a secret ploy to ensure we study nothing until the exam - hence giving others a better chance...
Binomial came in sept.....hence unlikely now? (btw I am playing bluff with the examiner) Lets see who wins..... Tomorrow we shall find out.
