I was looking at the April 2009 paper over the weekend - it was quite a topical (and difficult!!) paper. Any ideas of what topical issues from the UK might come up this April? I don't live in the UK so please state the obvious!

Generally, ST4 exam papers are much less focused on topical issues than SA4 papers. However, it's certainly true that the content of ST4 papers often reflects general trends in the UK. So what are these trends? Well, I'd encourage students who are based in the UK to post their thoughts here, but as a starting point, here are a few ideas:

- closure of DB schemes to new entrants and/or future accrual
- managing risk for the employer
- assessing and taking account of sponsor covenant
- discontinuance of pension schemes

Anyone got any other ideas/views?
