The pass rate for CT8

    digged up this interesting info from the actuaries website:

    'The pass mark is not a fixed mark... this will change each session, depending on the complexity of the paper, and the students’ overall performance. it depends on the leniency or strictness of the markers on aggregate...As a guide, students should be aiming to attain a mark of at least 60% in CTs'.

    So it is saying that to ensure a pass you should aim for 60 point out of 100.


    Further statistics says that slightly more half of the candidates pass the exam:

    September 2012 - 817 presented themselves and 484 passed,

    April 2012- 686 presented themselves and 347 passed.
