The lengths of women's skirts and Equity returns

Spurious as it may sound, but would examiners penalize one for linking the fate of the stock market to the lengths of women's skirts?

I thought I remembered reading that this relationship had broken down in recent years.

I'm struggling to think of a question for which this would be an appropriate answer but if it were, I don't see why not.

I don't think it's a very sensible point to make in an exam. It's not in the bookwork anywhere and is definitely more correlation than causation.

Try and stick to points which will be on the marking scheme, most people don't have the luxury of having time to write anything else!
