I wish to ask if the book, "Options, Futures and Other Derivatives" by Hull is extremely important for CT8 as it is for ST6. If so what are the most important CT8 topics that one would recommend in Hull??? Thanks
The ST6 course is heavily based on Hull and it is required reading. The situation is quite different for CT8 and you can quite happily study and pass CT8 without looking at Hull. Our course stands on its own. Having said that, Hull covers lots of the topics in the latter part of CT8 and might be of benefit if you wanted to read around the topics. For example there are chapters on the properties of share options, binomial trees, the BS model, the Greeks and credit risk. But I would say, at this stage, for most people, practising past CT8 exam papers would be more useful than reading extra textbooks.
Thanks MIKE, I am practicing the past papers so I wanted to ask if I can be looking up staff along the way to get a better understanding, moreover I wanted a hint on what would be best looked up! Thanks
