Happy memories - this was the CiD paper I sat ! Prior to the 8th edition of Hull, this material was in the textbook and only moved to an online Technical Note when the 8th edition was published. As this material is no longer required reading, I don't think it would be examined in this way any more. It could still be examined, but there would have to be more clues given in the question to give you some idea how to proceed.
