In Chapter 5 on “Professional guidance,” the Core Reading states that:
Things have obviously moved on since then. All the guidance notes mentioned have been withdrawn and replaced with TASs that are now in force. APS G3, although still in draft form, basically states that, for work outside the geographical scope of the TASs, we should apply an appropriate blend of TASs and local standards. So my question is, we’ve been told that we will receive credit for answers based on current standards, whatever they may be. Does this render knowledge of previous standards such as the GNs unnecessary and would we be better off studying the standards that will actually apply when we qualify?

You run the risk of picking up the wrong current one in my opinion.

exams will never be totally current so I'd say stick to Core Reading in the exam but drop a quick note that these have changed but don't add the detail.
You won't get double marks knowing both
