Is there currently a requirement to carry out supplementary reporting on either EEV Principles or MCEV Principles? The reading says there was an intention by CFO Forum to require MCEV by end of 2011 but that this has since been scrapped due to SII. What is the current situation?

    Thanks!

The current situation is that members of the CFO Forum must comply with the EEV principles when reporting on life insurance operations. Some firms are already using MCEV though. If you look at an insurer's report it will tell you which basis it uses.

For example, Prudential used EEV and Aviva used MCEV for the 2012 results.

Consultancies occasionally do surveys of who is using what type of reporting which you might find through a quick internet search.
