    April 2011 Question 4:
"State the possible regulatory restrictions that may be imposed on the actions of a
    general insurer. [7]"

how many different points are they expecting? I know the 1 mark = 2 points rule of thumb but here they wrote 21 in the answers....

    Thanks!

A simple "state" question like this, which only requires a simple regurgitation of the Core Reading, is very probably half a mark per point. So if I were you I'd be aiming for 14 points, plus a few extra (just in case one or two of your points aren't on the marking schedule).

The Examiners' Report will often include many more than the requisite number of marks though, to give an idea of the points that would have scored in the actual exam. It certainly wouldn't be necessary to state all these to get full marks.
