    hi

do these all have to be learned off by heart (eg the f(x)'s for a GPD and GED) etc?? or are they supplied in the exam (hopefully !!)

You get the formulae and tables in all exams so get familiar with whats in it these days

but there are many formulae in ST9 that aren't in the tables, eg for generalised pareto distributions etc and extreme value distributions ??

The Appendix to the Core Reading (included in the ActEd CMP) has quite specific guidance on examination of formulae etc.

    Regarding probability distributions:

Formulae for any required probability distributions (including means and variances), if not already given in the Formulae & Tables book, will be provided in the question.
