We have been informed by the Profession that the split of ST3 has been deferred until the 2010 exams.

ST3 split

Hi. So if you pass ST3 before the split, will you be credited with 2 ST's after the 2010 Exams?

no such luck. you keep the one ST credit but won't be able to sit either of the new ones.

Hmm... I'm a tad confused.

The Institute says that the new SA3 syllabus will start from April 2010 onwards and will assume students to have prior knowledge of ST7 and ST8... but how are we going to have prior knowledge of it if those two subjects just started in 2010 as well?
Basically everyone taking the SA3 sitting in April 2010 will have all done ST3 and not ST7+ST8 isn't it?

That's right - if you do SA3 in 2010 and haven't done ST7 and ST8, you'll need to go through the ST7/8 course material at the same time.

Thanks for clarifying!

Gosh.... what's the Institute trying to do? Kill us? We are only mortals... :(

It's not actually as bad as it sounds. The new material in ST7/8 will prepare you better for the SA3 exam, rather than having to read around the subject quite as much as you do now.
