In Q2(ii) the answer for the average accident date is calculated as 10.667 and it is written that this is two-thirds of the way through November 2009. Shouldn't this be two-thirds of the way through October 2009, or am I missing the point somewhere. Who can clearify this? Thanks, Barbados.
The end of December is 12 months, so the end of November is 11 months. Hence the start of November is 10 months and so two thirds of the way through November is 10.667 months. I hope this helps. Duncan
It is multiplying the earned exposure for each month by the average accident date for that month (expressed as the number of months after 1 January 2009), so for September this is 8.5 months after 1 January and so on.
