    Hi everyone
My maths skills are a little rusty;was wondering if someone could enlighten me on the solved example on pg. no.7 of chap.no.5.it"s o.k.uptil the last step, but how do you solve the eq.to get the ans(257.42)?The eq.is

    100[ ( e ^-0.08*0.8)^5-1]/-0.08+log(0.8)

If you could do it stepwise,it"d be really useful

Are you using a natural log (ln on your calculator, rather than log)?

    I'd suggest
    0.8exp^(-0.08)
then raise to the power 5
    then subtract 1
    then multiply by 100
    then divide by (-0.08+ln(0.8))

That should get you to 257.42
