Is anyone else finding that studying for ST9 is taking a long time because there are so many things to read from so many different places? how important do you think it is to invest time reading all of the papers and chapters referenced by the notes?

I am not busy with ST9 but plan to do it.

Do you find the volume a problem, or just all the disparate sources?

How does the volume compare to say, CA1?

the course is a lot shorter than ca1, but the disparate sources make it disjointed, and its certaintly got more reading than st2, which i sat last time.

There is a lot of reading. Rather than do the reading bit-by-bit as you encounter it in the course, an alternative strategy is to start by reading Lam and Chapman from cover to cover.

You will do a bit more reading than is strictly required but it may be quicker and fit together better this way. An updated ActEd Study Guide (available shortly) suggests this approach and outlines the bits of the texts that need to be read (and hence the bits that can be skipped over).

Please do let us know how you get on and how you are finding the course.
