I'm working through the project and it mentions that mortality is increased by a factor of 10. I'm a bit stuck on how to interpret this: is it simply 10% increase to mortality rates? Thank you for your help!

It might help if you can tell us which project you're working through.

Oops! It's the pre-exam assignment S01 about pensioner mortality.
    Thanks!

Without being able to see the project and not really being a specialist in this area I can only make an educated guess. I would suggest that the values of \(q_x\) are increased by a factor of 10, i.e. multiplied by 10, not increased by 10%. If you come across anything in the exam that you think is ambiguous, check with the supervisor. That's what they're there for.
