Showing workings on Word e.g Q5 CM2 September 2020

    Hi there, to what extent do we need to show detail for run-off triangles?

    E.g. the exam solutions just display tables and then show explicit workings for the development factors and the outstanding claims amount only.

    In my attempt, I showed workings for each cell I was working out.
    E.g. Incremental future claims in mid-2019 prices (2018, DY2):
    3335.51-2927.67=407.84

    But this takes a lot of time. Will it suffice to show less detail (as seen in the CM2B Examiner's report)?

    You need to show sufficient working to explain to the examiner what you've done. This is important because if you make a mistake with the maths there are still marks available for your method.
    If you would have previously written "3335.51-2927.67=407.84" in a paper-based exam, then you're taking a risk by not typing it in an online exam.
