Should I stop taking exams

On the path of progress, successes and failures, ups and downs are inevitable.

Einstein has said - A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.

If we study Actuarial course ( from IFoA, IAI or other similar institutes ) we can see that almost every subject is practically a whole new world. The learning curve for each subject is also extremely steep.

Also for CS2, CM2, CM1 and other difficult subjects there can be a single question in exam ( especially Part B ) that can make or break our exam result.

Hence, it is essential to attempt each diet with full preparation regardless of our results in previous exam. You need to keep trying until you progress forward.

Remember, you could pursue alternative careers where success is guaranteed but progress is slow or nil. But you chose Actuarial career. This means that success and failure should have second priority in your life and moving forward and doing progress should be your first priority.

Any decision of whether to quit actuarial exams or not should be in reference to your overall life direction - guaranteed success vs uncertain progress.

As a final word remember that success or failure is outcome of a random experiment - there are many factors beyond your control ( like paper evaluator's mood, existence of very difficult questions, etc.) Only extreme hard work and extreme will power can make the results deterministic ( i.e pass ).

All the best for your future career and exams.
