Hi, The question says that the first $1m of each claim is non-ranking towards the deductible. Is this $1m NOT a deductible itself? The examiner's report says for Loss B $1m that is non-ranking is recovered from the reinsurer. I thought this $1m is a non-ranking deductible and hence born by the insurer because it's still a deductible although it's non-ranking. Core reading question 14.13 says non-ranking deductible is born by the insured (in this case it's insured and insurer contract whereas in the Sep 2015 Q9 it's insurer and reinsurer contract).
