Just curious what people think of doing these subjects as part of the overall qualification?
They are not really the traditional subjects you expect an actuary to have, and while you see ads for insurace actuaries and the normal stuff, you don't see many ads looking for actuaries with these qualifications (or am I looking in the wrong places?).

To me, the subjects look the most interesting to do, just not sure of the value of them over the more traditional subjects.....
Is it better to do the others for you qualification, then then do the Certificate in Derivatives afterwards?

    Curious what others think.....

I think you're looking in the wrong places. If you look at actuaries in banks or investment houses who are involved in creating weird and wonderful financial products then having ST6 is going to be a real advantage. Also, in the investment consulting community there are a lot of qualified actuaries who have done ST5 / SA6 (although these days more people are looking to do the CFA).
