Hello
I'm going to be taking sa4 in Sept for the first time, I've been told it's a very different style / technique to ST4.

Does anyone have a tips or advice of how best to approach this?

For example, I've been told that learning bookwork will be a futile exercise.

Thanks

Hello Actuarial Trainee*

*hopefully not for too much longer once SA4 is out of the way!

... as an SA4 tutor, I'd say:
- yes, they are different
- I don't think I could do the differences justice in a forum thread
- attending a tutorial would help, as you will explore these issues in detail
- in the meantime, an early look at past papers will help you to appreciate the differences

and:
- although there is generally little pure bookwork, in almost all papers there is at least some.

Getting other students' views I think will be valuable too, so I hope there are more responses ... It is also worth looking back at previous forum threads, as this sort of question has been raised before.

Hope that helps

Best wishes

Stuart
