Have found a copy of S-PLUS 2000 plus all the manuals buried deep in a pile of cr4p at work. I'm familiar with R. Is S-PLUS going to give me anything extra?
Short answer: not really. The language is essentially the same, sans some quirks, here: http://cran.r-project.org/doc/FAQ/R-FAQ.html#R-and-S Also, using S means you may struggle to use R-packages, which are half the point of using R at all.
