It appears that copying graphs from RStudio 1.4 into Word may not work if you either: 1. right click -> copy plot 2. zoom -> right click -> copy plot and then try and paste normally. If you paste special as a 'device independent bitmap' then I believe the graph should still copy over. Otherwise, you can instead you can try the following: Export -> Copy to Clipboard -> Copy Plot You can also always use snipping / screen capture or save the image ('right click -> save image as' or 'zoom -> right click -> save image as') and copy from that.
