   For example, are you referring to the one for the Poisson distribution:
   
   \(P(X=x)=\frac{\mu}{x}P(X=x-1)\)
   
   You simply substitute the probability functions:
   
   \(\frac{P(X=x)}{P(X=x-1)}\)
