Can anyone recommend a book or website that would help me practice analysing problems and creating effective spreadsheets quickly? I think the majority of students are doing this day in day out (which maybe explains a lack of revision material in this area), but although I use spreadsheets I rarely have to build them. To avoid yet another resit I'd like to work on this skill before I go over past exams again.

thanks,
Matthew

Are you working and could you get your employer to send you on a course? After all, it must be a useful skill for them to get you. As you've discovered you need basic proficiency to pass.

Don't have any other suggestions but be advised that it not the fancy compounded/advanced formuale that will get you to pass. Indeed I was told using say nesting etc can be a good way to fail.

So check that the reason you have failed vefore isn't more about audit trails than actual XL skills.
