    Hello All,

My college friend went to States a few years ago for further education and managed to become an Associate (designation ASA) of the Society of Actuaries. Just wanted to know your thoughts on how well recognised this is in UK job market as he plans to return now.
Will he have to apply for exemptions and appear for some papers to become an associate of IFoA or can he straight go for ST papers. Also, from the job perspective, do companies in UK put ASA at par with IFoA Associate?

    Thank you

My limited understanding is that it is directly transferable - however, it may be worth commenting that the UK market, for whatever reason, doesn't place much stock in the Associate-level qualification.
