Hello, I will need some advice on how to practice answering questions on S2 and topical issues which are outside core reading. S2 is a very common question in the exam and the questions asked may be outside core reading and require some experience on S2. May I know what is the best way to study for such topics and prepare ourselves to answer exam questions on these topics? Are there any compilations of possible questions on S2 and topical issues?

Attempting the past questions from Sept 2011 onwards and doing some background reading are probably the best things you can do. If your employer is running any training sessions or talks on Solvency II then try to go to these. Also check whether the profession is hosting any relevant talks at a convenient location and date.

The following webpage on the profession's website has subject- and topic- specific reading lists:

The focus of the SA2 exam is on higher-level skills such as synthesis, analysis and critical judgement, so practising as many different SA2-style questions as possible will be very useful. As well as actual past exam questions, you can use our Assignments, Mocks (A, B and C) and Q&A Bank.

If anyone has good ideas for papers to read, please feel free to post links on the sticky "Further Reading ideas" thread.
