If a question asks for a certain number of factors will you be penallised for stating more than that number?

For example April 2008 Q7 - part 1 asks for 6 factors but there are actually 7 in the notes and part 2 again asks for 6 sources but the list from the notes has 9 sources (also a bit misleading as I didn't think I had the right list:mad: !)

No, you get marks for valid points up to the max for that question and any extra is well extra.

Indirectly you might be penalised as you've wasted time (and so can't answer rest of paper well). Also if you write lots of irrelevant points you might make it more difficult for examiners to pick up on the good points that you make, so it's important to set your answers out wisely.
