Is it possible to write ST5 without having studied CA1 before? I understand that CA1 does cover quite a lot of the investment work but given the short period between now and Sep08 exams, I do not see myself covering the CA1 course. Any advice? Thanks!

I'd say that without CA1 most people would probably struggle with ST5 - it appears quite straight forward untill you sit the exam!! If you are comfortable with the concepts of CA1 (assets part) / 301 you could do it, but if moving straight on from the CT's I would rather go for one of the liability-related subjects...
