Please refer to the question no. 6(i) of IFoA 2014 April 's paper. The solution does not apply continuity correction. Should not we do P(X>0.5) = [1 - P(X<=0.5)] = [1 - P(X<1)] while calculating the probability? Can anyone kindly help? I have posted photos of both the question and the solution for your reference.

As far as I know, when we are using approximation from discrete to continuous, we need to apply continuity correction. Is this true? Or, any other thing needs to be considered while applying continuity correction?

We don't use a continuity correction for the 2 sample binomial test only the 1 sample. See Ch12 Section 4.3.
