refer to the solutions for the revised cumulative reported claims triangle excluding ALAE, would like to consult how the figures derived? no problem for AY 2016, i.e. original 1744 minus ALAE 400, to deliver 1344. but for the other AYs, frustrated how the figures derived, e.g. AY2015, my understanding, is for AY 2015 in CY 2015, revised reported claims should be original 2204 divided by 1.4, to deliver 1574, and plus the claims of AY 2015 in CY2016, 3224 - 2204 - 88 = 932, result in cumulative claims to CY 2016 as 2506. am I right? really could not understand how the figure in solutions, 1322, for AY 2015 in CY 2015 derived? because on that case, the pure reported claims + ALAE cannot reconcile with the original data, i.e. 2254 + 1322 X 40% + 88 <> 3224. where am I wrong? thanks for advise!
Hi Smith The Specimen Exam is just a repeat of the September 2016 (ST7) exam, so is covered fully by ASET if you have that, worth getting so that you can see the full calculations for each step of the (lengthy) process... Ian
