Integration skills are a bit rusty, intermediate steps for this one would be appreciated:

    Integrate (6 x 500^3 t) / ((500 + t^2)^4) dt

    Goes to:

    (-500^3) / ((500 + t^2)^3)

    ???

    hi
im crap at symbol typing, so cannot show steps, but its one of those integration "function and a derivative rule" i.e use inspection or let the denomiator = u and use substitution

Examstudent is right - either you recognise it or use substitution by setting u = 500 + t².

For CT6 integration by parts and by substitution is an essential tool and it's very rare to have an exam without these...so some practice is required - either go to the library and pick up an old A level (or equivalent) text book, or use our FAC course or I attach some sheets I used when teaching A level many years ago!

    All the best!
