These two structures form part of a continuum as insurers seek to offer cover to as many applicants as possible. Some pre-funded products specifically cover disabled lives who are almost at the point of triggering the claims definition.

If some prefunded products specifically cover disabled lives who are almost at the point of claiming how is it different from immediate needs plans ? Is there any other difference ?

I think the key word here is "almost" - they're not quite at the point of claim yet.

The first sentence you've copied in states that the two structures form a continuum, so you should be thinking they're (almost!) the same.
