Was feeling rather miserable about the pass rates for the harder papers, when someone sent me the following, which put me in my place!

689 candidates pass CSS written examination

"LAHORE: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) announced the result of Central Superior Services (CSS) Examination 2008 on Tuesday. Out of 6571 candidates, who enrolled for the CSS examination, 689 were declared successful. Of them, 530 are men and 159 women. This year’s result shows the best success ratio in the past seven years."

And I found out that actually "only" 4257 turned up for the paper, out of the 6571 enrolled. Which still makes it a 16.2% pass rate. And apparently last year it was as low as 5.4% !!!

don't get hung up on pass rates. Put effort into active studying so you are one of the happier statistics. Think positive at this stage and yes if after results passes are few & you have failed then say 'I'm not alone'
