Does anybody know what the pass mark usually is? i just read there that only 44% of entrants passed the CT2 exam in April 2007.

The pass mark is probably not a fixed percentage; above around 50-55% you can start to hope for a pass.

I think that CT2, like CA1, involves a lot more scope for judgement than mathematical subjects like CT1 and CT8. A well-prepared candidate could hope to pass an exam with mathematics questions by 10-20%. With CT2 you probably need to focus on exam technique and settle for a pass by 5% or less. Given that some of the questions could be answered in a number of different ways, it could depend on whether the examiners have a preset list of points for which and only which they will award marks, or whether they can accept other ways of presenting the answer.
