The solution to Q&A bank 1.3(i)(a) says P&I clubs cover risks not traditionally insured by commercial marine hull policies such as damage to harbours etc. Do they cover the traditional aspects of marine insurance too?

May I also suggest the GIRO 1994 Working Party paper on Marine Insurance. It makes for quite enjoyable reading and the section on Liability speaks at length about P+I clubs. Not sure whether anything happened since 1994, though -- in case an exam question pops up on this topic, I'll assume that the world has stopped spinning since then.
