Overlap with CA1

Is it just me or does this course have a lot of overlap with CA1? I understand that the emphasis in the exam may be different etc but there are quite a few chapters that are pretty much the same as CA1 in terms of the core reading....

Is this the same for other STs or is CA1 more based on Life than the the other disciplines?

I think you're right - there is plenty of overlap between CA1 and ST2, probably more so than there is with the other STs.

Some of the technically more tricky parts of ST2, that don't overlap with CA1, are probably worth a bit of extra focus, eg with-profits surplus distribution (Chapters 6 and 7), supervisory reserves (Chapters 20 and 21) and costing options (Ch 24).
