Overlap ST7 and ST8

Roughly what is the overlap between ST7 and 8?

Are some of the chapters the same? And so what percentage of ST7 is covered in ST8 and what percentage of ST8 is covered in ST7?

Tutors?

I'm trying to think out a strategic route to sitting 2 exams in April next year

Thanks Tiger! Well I'm trying to figure out which single ST to do in September and which one to combine with SA3 in April.

I was thinking that if say, 30% of ST8 was covered in ST7 but only 20% of ST7 was covered in ST8 (because ST7 was overall just a bigger absolute volume or whatever), I would just combine ST8 with SA3 in April next year.

I've seen other threads about doing 2 ST's or an ST and an SA at the same time and the dangers of that. I'll have to start almost as soon as the September exams are done, if I go that route. It's all just contemplation at the moment - got a 'small' hurdle to clear first!

Those pass rate stats seem odd but it could be to do with the years of data selected and the way the averages were averaged maybe?

I tried gathering the data at some point and I have the following for years 2009 to 2012

Subject; SatExam; Passes; Pass Rate
CA1 5853 2748 47%
SA1 275 114 41%
SA2 2467 991 40%
SA3 1228 497 40%
SA4 1887 739 39%
SA5 355 154 43%
SA6 624 173 28%
ST1 1347 619 46%
ST2 3268 1347 41%
ST4 1878 809 43%
ST5 2826 1268 45%
ST6 802 275 34%
ST7 1422 536 38%
ST8 1252 497 40%
ST9 606 241 40%
