Hi,

If we get a numerical question and make a small error at the start will be penalised for the rest of the question??

So say if we get an AOS question and get the first part wrong of the question will we be penalised for using those figures to answer subsequent parts??

No, you shouldn't be penalised in the rest of the question. You should be able to pick up marks for using the right method even if some parts of the earlier calculation were wrong.

So in terms of exam technique, if you spot that you've made an error earlier in the calculation, its probably not worth correcting it as it will take too long to update all your later calculations. Instead its better to write a brief note explaining your mistake, but then continue with the numbers you've got.

Good luck with the exam.
