Martingale representation theorem

    Will the proof of the theorem be tested in the exam?
    On page 14 the opening statement says that the proof of the theorem is beyond the syllabus. But then in the next section(2.2) there is a proof anyway.

    Hi,

    The proof is in the Core Reading and so it could be asked in the exam. However, it has been in the Core Reading since 1999 and has not been asked yet, so I think it unlikely that it will be asked in the exam.

    So, given that you cannot learn everything in the Core Reading, I think it would be more useful to spend your limited revision time practising past exam paper questions instead.

    Thank you for the response. It's extremely helpful. However, if it can be tested then isn't the first line on the aforementioned page redundant? Should it count as an unintended error?
