Is CA3 an open book exam?

I know that you can bring the tutorial booklet from Day1, but how about pastpapers and acted note?

Thank you :)

What is the approximate pass mark for CA3? I failed the exam but did not get a results letter and really no indication what examiners are looking for as solutions don't get published either?

The IFoA don't yet publish pass marks. However, ActEd's Mock Exams have a pass mark of 60%. Our materials are reviewed by the IFoA and they have indicated that our materials (including our marking schedules) are fit for purpose. Sorry not to be able to give a more definitive answer but I hope that this gives you an indication of what is required to pass.

I used the exam counselling to understand where I needed to improve. As you said there's no published solutions or examiners report. Not a cheap option; with hindsight it might have been better to do the acted mock & get feedback that way.
