Interpolation in statistical tables

Hi, I have problems interpolating with statistical tables. If I get a value to look up in the table which is not listed in it how do I go about getting the correct table value for it?

your correct... you do it by interpolation.

phi( 0.92 ) = A
phi( 0.93 ) = B (from tables) and you want

phi( 0.92245 ) or something similar

X - A = 0.92245 - 0.92
B - A 0.93 - 0.92

and solve for X to get the value you want

Use a calculator!

There are a number of calculators, which are allowed in the examination, that do normal probabilities. For example:

Casio FX991-ES
Casio FX570-ES

Sharp EL520 WB
Sharp EL530 VB
Sharp EL506WB

These'll save time!
