Insuared perils

    Chapter 3, 1.2, page 8
    regarding the insured perils for motor third party liability and marine & aviation liability seem a little bit different from others, that,
    as told, it's the loss or damage to the property, bodily injury and death, rather than the accident causing the loss or damage, bodily injury and death.
    whereas, the perils for other liability covers are told as the accidents, event resulting in the loss.
    How to understand such difference for the vehicle related covers from the other liability covers?

    Yes, well spotted, there is a slight inconsistency here. 'Peril' is defined in the Glossary as the event that gives rise to a claim. For some liability business it can be tricky to be precise, as the allowable claims aren't normally listed - as long as you can show negligence. For property business, it's more clear cut, as the allowable events are all listed explicitly in the policy documents. I would suggest you stick to the Glossary interpretation of peril if it comes up in the exam.
