In Qs 6(c) I have found the skewness using moments but i'm not getting 1 as the answer (actually acc. to solutions ans should be 1.4142 as they are using variance instead of S.D). I got E(X)=1, E(X^2)=3/2, E(X^3)=3 so skewness= 1/2 Also by multiplying coefficient of skewness (given in tables) by S.D^3 I'm getting 1/2. what am I doing wrong? Also, I want to know is the formula skewness=(mean-mode)/S.D valid only for gamma distribution or for all the distributions.
