(This is a 6 monthly update: see https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_news/comments/z9zw5l/challenge_to_the_ifoa_ask_your_members_to_rate/ for results of previous polls). See also https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/does-ifoa-even-come-close-complying-standards-demands-lee/?trackingId=QFawCD4IT/iQcR3o9Vc2KQ== for a challenge on LinkedIn for the IFoA to conduct its own polls if it disputes the results of the Reddit polls. To increase the reliability of the polls, please vote in the new (Nov/Dec 2022) polls at: https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_news/comments/za0jje/nov_2022_poll_rate_the_ifoa_on_its_compliance/ (principle 1) https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_ne...ec_2022_poll_rate_the_ifoa_on_its_compliance/ (principle 2) https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_ne...ec_2022_poll_rate_the_ifoa_on_its_compliance/ (principle 3) https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_ne...ec_2022_poll_rate_the_ifoa_on_its_compliance/ (principle 4) https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_ne...ec_2022_poll_rate_the_ifoa_on_its_compliance/ (principle 5) https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_ne...ec_2022_poll_rate_the_ifoa_on_its_compliance/ (principle 6)
Here are the results of the previous polls over the last 18 months: You can see that in polls conduced on Reddit in May 2021, November 2021 and May/June 2022 the IFoA has consistently scored an average rating of poor.
The results of the polls give the IFoA mean ratings as follows with regard to each of its 6 Principles: 1 Integrity: 2.2 (poor) 2 Competence and Care: 3.3 (acceptable) 3 Impartiality: 2.67 (2/3 of the way between poor and acceptable) 4 Compliance: 3.25 (acceptable) 5 Speaking Up: 2.46 (poor) 6 Communication: 2.05 (poor). The IFoA is to be congratulated on (for the first time) getting a couple of ratings above poor (acceptable for both Competence and Care and Compliance). It would still have to discipline itself under principles Integrity, Impartiality, Speaking Up, and Communication, with its lowest scores being in Communication and Integrity.
