When a married couple take out a hire purchase on a private vehicle whereby partner A finances the hp payments and partner B is the registered owner of the car re: DVLA records, who owns the vehicle once the hire purchase term expires and the car dealer hands over ownership? Thanks SG4C
Hello SG4C Fortunately this detail is beyond what's needed for CT2. However, I believe the answer is Partner A - ie the name on the sales contract. Technically, the DVLA documents show the "registered keeper" and that person is liable in case of accidents and for other issues. However, this is different from "ownership". Hope this helps Lynn
